Neptune Oyster

The start to a fun night in #Boston. #GoodEats. Thanks @michaelserpa for a great meal.

We showed up at 5:30 to put our name on the list, little did we know, we got the 2nd last seats in the restaurant! After a 2 hour wait at the bar across the street and after many drinks, it was time to eat!

It was fun meeting the couple seated next to us, it's a small world and it seems like Torontonians gravetate towards each other! Hopefully we bump into each other in Toronto some time :)

I think I got my friend addicted to raw clams ;)

Wellfleet Oysters and Littleneck Clams

Lots of good flavour, but it was a but thin and the potatoes weren't cooked.

Clam Chowder ($11)

Perfectly seared scallops, just heaven! Great texture and temperature contrasts.

Seared Georges Bank Scallops: D'anjou Pear Butter, Long Island Duck Confit, Brussels Sprouts, Maytag Blue ($34)

Visiting Boston this time around I had to get my fill of chowder and lobster rolls. This lobster roll is what you expect, perfectly cooked lobster in a bun and not much else. This is what I love, simple. The lobster is the star of the show. I went with the buttered lobster, as per recommendaton of the server, and while it was nice, it made the roll soggy and a little gross in the end. This is still a really good lobster roll, but it feels like its missing something in the texture and flavour departments. I would have liked bigger chunks of lobster. The fries on the other hand, well give me a bowl of those and I'll be happy!

Maine Lobster Roll: toasted roll, available with hot butter or cold with mayo ($25)
